The 9th British Invention Show 14-17 October 2009 - Alexandra Palace - London - Amazing Inventions & Innovations on Show from across the Globe - You can be There!  

Britain is Famous the World over for it's creative genius and from the 14th to the 17th October the very latest crop of our very best offerings will be under fire as 15 countries battle it out for the coveted British Invention of the year and World Invention Awards.

Just who are these people?  

Doctors Professors your Mother your Daughter there are no rules, anyone can be an inventor. All it takes is a great idea and the will and tenacity to see it through to conclusion. Single mother of one Sharron Wright knows only too well just how much commitment it takes. Sharon swept away the Diamond award  for her brilliant solution for feeding cables through cavity walls. Head hunted at BIS by BBC's Dragons Den team, in no time at all James Cahn and Duncan Ballantyne fell victim to Sharon's obvious competence and edgy personality. Finally the dragons parted with more than Sharon was asking for earning her the reputation of the Dragon Slayer. Inventors Sharon Wright - Magnamole, Trevor Baylis - Clockwork Radio and Kane Kramer - Digital Audio Player will be making personal appearances and co-presenting the awards at the Gala Dinner at 7 pm on Friday evening.  

There will be an incredibly diverse array of unique ideas on offer and lots of professional advice for the would be innovator, take a breath, here's a taster...

A panel of 25 judges from the British Inventor’s Society will put ecological and social benefits to mankind, as well as design, ingenuity and originality to the test. 2nd Media Call - 16th October: The Inventor of the Year will be announced during the dinner award 7 - 11pm.

Dress - National Dress or Black Tie, Information may be available earlier in the day.

TV and news crews please note that no trailing leads are permitted whilst general public are in the main exhibition hall. Filming outside public hours and special arrangements are possible. 

Filming is permitted for the duration of the event. though access to the dinner awards will be limited.

Please note - Filming without having first obtained a permit from the event organiser V11 Ltd is strictly prohibited.
